Downtown Novato's go-to for special-occasion cakes, Creekside Bakery is a locally owned, family-run shop at the corner of Grant Avenue and 7th Street. The star of the case is the famed Princess Cake, the dome of sponge, cream and green marzipan that shows up at more Novato birthdays than we can count. Custom cakes are available with a couple of days' notice.
Come early for coffee and a pastry, or stop in at lunch for house-made quiche, avocado toast and gourmet sandwiches. Cookies, pies and seasonal treats round out the case, so it's hard to leave without a white bakery box in hand.
