Following structural restorations after a car accident in 2025, Larkspur’s famous 65-year-old dive bar has officially reopened under the stewardship of Max Perry and Conor Flaherty (owners of Sam’s Anchor Café in Tiburon). Alongside building owners Tommy and Shannon Lamanna, the new team focused on essential updates like new flooring, freshly upgraded bathrooms, and new tap lines—all while preserving the iconic historical character of the bar.
Inside, the iconic open-beamed ceilings and famed piano (rumored to have been played by Janis Joplin) remain untouched. Upgraded television setups bolster a renewed emphasis on catching the game, alongside classic entertainment like pool tables, a shuffleboard court, and pinball machines. True to its roots, "The Peso" remains central as Marin's neighborhood living room.
“It is a bar by the community and for the community,” says Perry. “Conor and I, along with property owners and co-investors Tommy and Shannon Lamanna of Larkspur, share the same vision of ensuring the Peso thrives for decades to come.”
