Memorial Day in Mill Valley is more than just a parade — it’s one of Marin’s most beloved community celebrations and the unofficial kickoff to summer!

On Monday, May 25th, downtown Mill Valley comes alive with festive floats, marching bands, dancers, music, creative costumes, and plenty of hometown spirit during the iconic Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade. This year’s theme, “Our Democracy,” celebrates community, connection, and the unique character that makes Mill Valley such a special place.

The fun starts early with the Volunteer Fire Department Pancake Breakfast before the parade rolls through town beginning at 10:30am. Grab a spot along the parade route and enjoy one of Marin’s favorite traditions as performers, local organizations, schools, and community groups march from Old Mill Park through downtown Mill Valley.

And the celebration doesn’t stop there…

After the parade, head over to the Mill Valley Community Center for Kiddo!’s Day on the Green and Carnival — a lively afternoon packed with live music, carnival rides, food trucks, games, family activities, a toddler zone, photo booth, and plenty of sunshine-filled fun. This year’s festivities also celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Mill Valley Community Center!
