Don't touch that dial! Ross Valley Players brings Frank Capra's beloved holiday classic to the Barn Theatre with It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, running November 19 through December 20.
It's Christmas Eve at a snowbound 1940s radio station, and a small cast of actors brings George Bailey's story to life as a live broadcast, complete with on-air sound effects and that unforgettable ending recreated right before your eyes. Joe Landry's adaptation has been staged more than 1,000 times since 1996, and it's easy to see why.
Directed by Adrian Elfenbaum, the show features Loren Nordlund, Molly Rebekka Benson, Evan Held, Elenor Irene Paul and Malcolm Rodgers. It runs about 90 minutes with no intermission.
Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm, with a preview on Thursday, November 19 and opening night on Friday, November 20. There's no show on Thanksgiving, and Saturday, December 5 is a matinee.
