The first Souvla opened its doors in April 2014 in Hayes Valley, and nine years later, the owners have opened locations in San Francisco's NoPa, Mission, Marina and Dogpatch neighborhoods. And beginning November 6th, the popular fast-fine Greek restaurant group, is launching its first North Bay location in Marin Country Mart (once home to the Marin Brewing Company).
Souvla Marin will be the brand’s first location with an all-season outdoor space with more than 60 seats on the heated patio. The restaurant will evoke the relaxed island ambiance of Greece, with rustic touches reminiscent of an old world Greek village.
Design elements include textured plaster, handmade terracotta tiles, vintage lighting, custom wrought iron chairs and natural fabrics and textiles, as well as a plant-lined pergola that will transport guests to the Aegean seaside.
Souvla will feature the same beloved menu as its SF sister restaurants, including its signature Greek sandwiches and salads (made with your choice of lamb, pork, chicken). Vegeterian options including plant-based meats are also available.
Poultry lovers will rejoice over Souvla's naturally raised rotisserie meats. Fun fact: the word “souvla” actually means “skewer” in Greek — the rod on which meat is roasted. Diners have the choice of wrapping their roasted meat in warm, fluffy pita bread or topping it on a crisp salad, served with traditional Greek flavors such as feta cheese, pickled vegetables and yogurt sauces, including Souvla’s signature Granch.
No visit to Souvla is complete without an order of their celebrated Greek Fries. And be sure to save room for dessert!
The restaurant offers frozen Greek Yogurt drizzled with your choice of Greek olive oil and flaky sea salt; Baklava crumbles and honey syrup; and Greek sour cherry syrup.
Wash it all down with Souvla's own white, rosé, red, orange and bubbly wines and Greek beer. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
Souvla joins other beloved dining destinations at the Marin Country Mart, including Hog Island Oyster Co., Farmshop, Shake Shack, Rustic Bakery, Fort Point Beer Company, and the soon-to-open Moonset by Charles Phan.
Souvla is open daily for sit-down or takeout lunch and dinner (10am - 9pm). The restaurant is also available for delivery throughout most of Marin County. OPA!
