Wreckless Strangers return to Sweetwater this Thursday to celebrate the release of their new EP, Blue Sky Fantasy.

Wreckless Strangers is a collective of six friends and musicians carrying the torch for San Francisco’s grand rock ‘n’ roll tradition. Their unique stew of “Bay Area Gumbo” melds the contemporary blues stylings of Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs; the songwriting sensibilities of Sons of Champlin and Fleetwood Mac; the swashbuckling Americana of the Lost Planet Airmen and Peter Rowan; and the funk of Sly Stone and Tower of Power with a dash of Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane for flavor and unpredictability.
Their latest collection is a sonic adventure that showcases the band’s evolution with a cohesive blend of tracks that highlight their range and artistic growth. Blue Sky Fantasy offers a dynamic mix of powerful guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and stand-out vocals.
Opening the show will be the Beau Beau Band, a group known for their upbeat, groovy, and danceable sound, combining rhythm & blues, funk, soul, and New Orleans music.

Singer/songwriter Sean “Stymie” Sharp launched the band in 1996. The first lineup featured Joe “Mojo” Powell, a featured harmonizer and hype man who still elevates the band today. The band soon proved itself to be stupendous live, voted Best Funk Band in SF Weekly. While it has enjoyed the honor of opening gigs for the likes of Earth, Wind, & Fire, Fred Wesley, Digital Underground, and Billy Preston over the years, Stymie and the PJLO has been packing ‘em in with its own headlining shows for over a decade and a half - and still counting.

Inherently committed to an improvisational approach, Lebo embodies the realm of melodic and soulful sounds.
The evening will feature an all-star lineup of musical friends: including: Vicki Randle (Percussion, Vocals; The Tonight Show Band), Steve Adams (Bass; ALO), Trevor Garrod (Keys; Tea Leaf Green), and Scott Rager (Drums; Tea Leaf Green)
