There’s something special about this perennial neighborhood gem winner. On the scene for some 25 years and named for chef-owner Paul, the restaurant exudes classic Italian bistro with glowing chandeliers above tables draped in red checked cloths.
Chef is passionate about sourcing, turning Monterey calamari into the familiar appetizer and into steak Doré. There’s also a seasonal wild King salmon menu where chef imagines new ways to eat the fatty fish – why not try a plate of salmon with beets, gorgonzola and balsamic vinaigrette?
The house wine program is exclusively from Napa, with the barreled wines available by the glass and 500 ml and 1000 ml carafes.
