It all began more than 20 years ago when Denmark natives Annette and Gerner Andresen opened the Lighthouse Café in Sausalito. The café quickly earned a loyal following for its hearty breakfasts and lunches, serving American classics like old-fashioned hamburgers and fluffy omelets alongside Scandinavian favorites such as Danish meatballs.
The restaurant's popularity led to the opening of a second location in Corte Madera, where it has become a beloved neighborhood destination for breakfast and lunch. Locals flock to favorites like the Norwegian omelette with smoked salmon, fruit-topped pancakes, and classic eggs Benedict—all served with the warm, small-town hospitality that has made Lighthouse Café a Marin institution.
