Under new ownership since September 2025, The Shack is a beloved neighborhood destination in downtown Larkspur that blends classic sweet treats with creativity. Located under the redwoods on Magnolia Avenue, this family-friendly parlor features an old-fashioned charm combined with touch-screen kiosks for easy ordering.
The space is designed as a gathering hub, balancing an outdoor seating area and free arcade games with an art table for kids and art books for adults. Open daily, The Shack has evolved into a vibrant community corner, hosting private birthday parties alongside a rotating lineup of creative workshops, such as monthly calligraphy classes and bimonthly floral watercolor classes.
The menu features scoops in hand-rolled waffle cones, thick milkshakes, and customizable four-flavor flights. Popular treats include the S'mores Sundae (graham crackers, chocolate chips, and marshmallows) and the Unicorn Sundae (Ube ice cream, Bubble Gum, and Strawberry ice cream topped with unicorn bark and a mini sugar cone).
Additionally, the parlor offers custom, pre-ordered ice cream cakes, along with to-go pints and vegan ice cream cookie sandwiches.
