HowellDevine returns to Rancho Nicasio for a Sunday afternoon dinner and a show on October 18th.
The trio of Joshua Howell (guitar, harmonica, vocals), upright bassist Joe Kyle Jr., and drummer J. Hansen blends rural blues with wildly syncopated rhythms for a sound unlike anything else on the blues circuit. They were the first blues act Chris Strachwitz signed to his legendary Arhoolie Records label in more than 25 years, and their propulsive, hypnotic grooves breathe new life into early blues.
