Light and Water: The Landscapes of G.R. Brown at Arts Works gallery in Downtown San Rafael.

The artist began his journey as a fine art painter later in life, after a 40-year career as a graphic artist, illustrator and art director in print and web media. All of his current work is from the last 4 years, the majority of that as landscapes.

​

He finds and portrays beautiful places in nature or the human world that speak to him. Virtually all of his landscapes are derived from photographs he has personally taken while hiking or traveling.

​

Einstein was quoted as saying that “the proof of God is that the universe is unnecessarily beautiful… that only a Higher Conscious Source would make it so”. G.R. Brown would agree.
