Two of rock's greatest jam bands share one stage again as Live Dead & Brothers brings an all-star celebration of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band to Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley.
The lineup is stacked with players from both bands' extended families: Berry Duane Oakley (The Allman Betts Band), Les Dudek (Allman Brothers family), Mark Karan (Bob Weir & RatDog, The Other Ones), Scott Guberman (Phil Lesh & Friends) and Pete Lavezzoli (JGB, Jazz Is Dead, Oteil & Friends). Together they channel the famous Dead/Allmans co-bills of 1969 to 1973, digging into the psychedelic blues and long, adventurous improvisation that launched the jam band era. Whether you were there the first time or are just discovering the music, it's a night built for deep grooves and big solos. Doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM; all ages are welcome. Grab your tickets in advance for this Tuesday-night treat.
