The San Anselmo Arts Commission presents: Moving Pictures: Do It. See It. Speak It - an International Dance Film Series pairing extraordinary dance films with interactive introductions by four Bay Area master dance artists.

MOVING PICTURES: Do It. See It. Speak It invites audiences to experience dance before simply watching it. 

Do it: a Bay Area master dance artist offers an interactive introduction to their movement tradition, sharing gestures, ideas, and embodied knowledge. 

See it: the audience then watches a film through this new lens. 

Talk it: a short audience talk-back brings the audience together to explore the film, its themes, and the cultural traditions behind it. From flamenco and Kathak to jazz, ballet, and Indigenous dance traditions, each program offers a fresh way to experience dance, cinema, and the artists who bring these traditions to life.
