Join Mac's at 19 Broadway for a fun afternoon of Prohibition history + mixologist-guided cocktail lessons

Step back into the roaring 1930s for an afternoon of cocktails, scandalous stories, and speakeasy vibes in downtown Fairfax.

“Step Back in Time: A Prohibition Afternoon” invites guests to stroll through Fairfax’s historic business district while uncovering tales of bootleggers, hidden bars, and the rebellious spirit of the Prohibition era. The afternoon kicks off with a guided walking tour through town, where you’ll hear how Fairfax thrived when the drinks were strong and the laws were… flexible.

Then the real fun begins.

Head inside the speakeasy for an entertaining and spirited talk from special guest Jeff Burkhart — aka “The Barfly” — as he dives into the fascinating history of cocktails, speakeasies, Fairfax bootleggers, and how Prohibition forever changed American drinking culture.

Feeling bold? Guests will also have the chance to step behind the bar and try their hand at mixology (with professional supervision, of course).

Vintage attire is encouraged, so dust off your fedoras, flapper dresses, pearls, suspenders, and best alibi.
