Power pop fans, this one's for you! Legendary Berkeley band The Rubinoos take the stage for a special Sunday matinee at HopMonk on August 9.

From their early days as teenage friends making music together to becoming one of the world's most beloved power pop bands, The Rubinoos have spent decades crafting irresistibly catchy songs and unforgettable live shows. Their acclaimed 1977 debut was hailed by rock critic Gene Sculatti as "the best pop album of the decade," launching a career that has included collaborations with Todd Rundgren, Kevin Gilbert, and Chuck Prophet.

Along the way, they've shared the stage with icons like Tom Petty and Elvis Costello, appeared on American Bandstand, recorded the theme song for the cult classic Revenge of the Nerds, and introduced a new generation to their music when "I Think We're Alone Now" opened Season 3 of Netflix's Sex Education.
