Recommendation  #1
Keiko Fish

Chef Yoshi Abe has 20+ years experience working at some of the finest sushi restaurants, including stints in Kobe, Japan, Sushi Sasabune in Los Angeles, and Morimoto Napa. He and his wife opened Keiko Fish in downtown Larkspur in December 2021, and it has quickly become a community favorite.

Chef Abe's signature dishes include: fried onion albacore sashimisliced yellowtail jalapeño crudo with crispy garlic, cilantro and ponzu sauce; and crispy sushi rice topped with spicy tuna and avocado drizzled with eel sauce.

If you're thirsty, the restaurant offers four types of sake, three bottled wines and Asahi Japanese beer.

The restaurant offers takeout and can accommodate up to 20 diners inside. Rumor has it that sidewalk tables are coming soon.

Winner winner! Chicken dinner! From the team behind Sababa, Flybird features international versions of fried chicken sandwiches and salads made from scratch daily. They also offer grilled and rotisserie chicken, wings with a variety of dipping sauces, as well as Beyond chicken and sweet potato options for vegetarians. Don't feel like cooking dinner? Pick up a rotisserie family meal (feeds 2-3 people) for just $35.

Wash it all down with one of their many local beers on tap. We think this short video by our local social media stud @DestroyEats will wet your beak.

Recommendation #3
Kientz Hall

The flavors at Kientz Hall are fresh and bold, drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean to Classic Americana. The cooking is familiar, fun and approachable for the whole family. Guests are encouraged to "come as you are — for every occasion… or no occasion at all." You can dine and relax in their sun-filled atrium or enjoy the views of Mt. Tamalpais on their roof deck.

Signature dishes include: the Kale Caesar, the Roasted EggplantLamb Meatball Lettuce Cups, and their Spit-Roasted Chicken and Tri-Tip. And you can wash it all down with an impressive selection of wines by the glass and beers on tap.

The restaurant is open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. They don't currently accept reservations. They serve on a first come, first served basis. Simply order at the counter first, then take a seat wherever you like. They’ll bring everything to you.

Susannah and Olivier Souvestre recently converted Sausalito's Fast Food Francais (aka F3) into Zalta, a charming bistro serving Mediterranean-inspired cuisine + sophisticated cocktails.

Recommendation #5
Peri's Tavern

After a long absence, Peri’s Tavern is reopening in downtown Fairfax. Many patrons over the years have found solace within its walls, from conversation with friendly, knowledgeable mixologists, while cocktails and beers are being served, to the live music and the down-home feeling it provides. Peri’s is quite simply a fun community hub providing music from national and local bands (rock, blues, country, reggae and jazz, and more).

Their main patio is a wonderful place to hang out and watch the town go by. And their backyard garden is where you can go enjoy one of their tasty drinks under the trees, play a game of ping-pong, or just chill with strangers and friends alike.
