Johnny & June Forever returns to Rancho Nicasio this Friday.

From “I Walk the Line” to the iconic “Folsom Prison Blues,” many have known and loved Johnny Cash over the years. Over 90 million records sold! No love, though, seems as great as the love that singer/songwriter June Carter had for Cash during their long years together. Though they have passed on, the passion that burned between them will always be present in their heartfelt and truthful lyrics written and performed for one another.
Danny Evans & Essence of ‘Johnny & June Forever’ are also seasoned artists in their own rights. Their chemistry and musicality on stage is so undeniable that many have described them as the reincarnation of Johnny & June.

The legendary Barry "the Fish" Melton Band returns to HopMonk this Friday.

Barry “The Fish” Melton celebrated his 20th birthday in June 1967. A few days later, he and his band, “Country Joe and the Fish,” were rocketed onto the world stage at the Monterey Pop Festival with such luminaries as the Jefferson Airplane, the Mamas and Papas, Otis Redding, Ravi Shankar, Simon and Garfunkel, the Who and a relatively unknown guitarist named Jimi Hendrix. And fifty years ago, in 1969, Barry appeared at the historic festival in Woodstock.

In the 1980’s, Barry put together San Francisco’s historic supergroup, “Dinosaurs,” featuring Barry and John Cipollina (Quicksilver Messenger Service, guitar), Spencer Dryden (Jefferson Airplane, drums), Peter Albin (Big Brother and the Holding Company, bass), and Robert Hunter (Grateful Dead songwriter, guitar).

The Lark Theater is hosting SIMPLY SAID - a spoken word series fashioned after NPR's "The Moth Radio Hour."

The SIMPLY SAID series is held every third Tuesday of the month and hosted by Corey Rosen. Each show features a lineup of experienced storytellers, blended with opportunities for audience members to put their name in “the hat” to tell their own story on the monthly theme.
This month, Simply Said dives into the messy, funny, complicated world of “Sorry Not Sorry” — stories of regret, defiance, forgiveness, and everything in between. Come to hear (or tell!) stories about the apologies we meant, the ones we faked, the ones we’re still waiting for.

How it Works:
Stories must be 5 minutes or less, spoken aloud (not read), just plain-spoken word about something you have experienced personally. This is spontaneous with no auditions or rehearsals. If you wish to tell a story, you’ll have an opportunity to put your name in a hat!
