The Victoria George Band will be the headliner this Friday at Creek Park. Victoria "looks like an angel, and sings like hell." Recommendation #4
HopMonk Tavern

Tainted Love and Mustache Harbor are headlining Hopmonk's Cookout Concert Series this Friday. Get ready for a unforgettable night of 80s dance hits + Yacht Rock classics.

Mustache Harbor's mission/destiny is simple: to build a mustache army and create Hardcore Soft Rock the likes of which has not been seen or heard since Christopher Cross, Steely Dan, Ace, Kenny Loggins and The Little River Band ruled the airwaves and created AM Gold.

And for two decades Tainted Love has been thrilling audiences with their high-energy, over-the-top renditions from the treasure trove of pop music known as the 1980’s. Their show delivers something for every fan of music: pulsing dance beats, fist-pumping rock anthems, and guilty-pleasure sing-alongs, all performed with the highest level of musicianship and state-of-the-art sound and lighting.

Recommendation #5
Sweetwater Music Hall

Shoplifters United are performing a rousing tribute to The Smiths this Saturday at Sweetwater. The Smiths were one of the most influential bands of the 1980s, blending Morrissey’s poetic lyricism with Johnny Marr’s dazzling guitar work, Andy Rourke’s driving basslines, and Mike Joyce’s signature rhythms. Their sound still echoes through generations of artists—timeless, raw, and unforgettable.

With passionate performances and spot-on recreations of both beloved hits and deep cuts, Shoplifters United bring the magic of The Smiths to life on stage. Pascal, Matt, Tommy, and James have been channeling their shared love of The Smiths into a live experience that transports audiences back to 1984 Manchester at The Haçienda. Close your eyes, feel the jangly guitars and melancholic anthems, and relive the brilliance of The Smiths—live, loud, and in the moment.

Recommendation #6
Rancho Nicasio

Tommy Castro & The Painkillers are the headliner at Rancho Nicasio's BBQ on the Lawn this Sunday.

Since his solo debut in 1994, Tommy Castro has made 16 albums. Ranging from horn-fueled R&B to piping hot blues to fiery, stripped-down rock ‘n’ roll, each release is solidly built upon Castro’s unshakable musical foundation—a dynamic mix of 1960s-influenced guitar-fueled blues, testifying Memphis-soaked blue-eyed soul and Latin-tinged East San Jose funk, all driven by Castro’s grab-you-by-the-collar vocals and passionate guitar work.

Tommy will be performing tracks from his latest album A Bluesman Came To Town, which tells the tale of a young man working on his family farm who gets bitten by the blues bug. He masters the guitar and heads out on the road seeking fame and fortune, only to find what he’s left behind is the treasure he’s been looking for.
