There’s something about the high, wainscoted walls, tall windows and sturdy oak folding chairs that adds enormous charm to a restaurant and wine bar that are part of an inn. Known locally as Eleven, this charming Bolinas restaurant hews to a tight menu (it all fits on a small chalkboard) at lunch and dinner with seasonally focused flavors. There’s typically a cheese plate of locally sourced goodness, salad of the same provenance, oysters, meatballs and fries, and house made apple galette to round things out. Look for pizza to be topped with eggplant in summer, anchovies in winter, and spicy sausage any time of year. A whole branzino with salsa verde or an Italian sub sandwich fills out the lunch menu. The natural wine list is similarly short but spans the globe in search of enticing flavor.
