The San Geronimo Valley Community Center proudly presents Open Road in concert on November 23rd at 7pm in the Valley Room.
Open Road, a duo featuring veteran songwriters Lucia Comnes and John Palmer, serves up original songs and reimagined acoustic covers as authentic Americana, from ragtime to rockabilly with a dash of R&B. Characterized by close male-female vocal harmonies, melodic guitar, and soulful and dynamic fiddle and viola accompaniment, their first album ‘Skylark’ topped acoustic and folk radio charts in the US this spring, debuting at #3 on the Folk Alliance national chart for May. Lucia has played with Joan Baez, Jefferson Hamer, Paul Brady, and KITKA, and John has done session work with Fantasy Records in Berkeley, and played guitar and bass in a number of SF Bay Area rock and string bands.
